In 1972 Scat created the type 1 flange crankshaft to harness the extreme horse power / torque of immensely highly modified VW race engines and to eliminate the separation of the flywheel from the crank during a high rpm launch. Over the years, Scat has improved the design along with the strength of their crankshafts in order to extend the life o high performance race engines and to better support the racers need for speed. Available in Chevy rod journals and your choice of type 4 center main only or all type 4 main journals.
